The co-producers of BE IT, Roseanna Dias and Prince Taylor, brought with them a wealth of experience and research. They and the trainers they brought into the programme were fully immersed in contemporary debates around the themes and issues which were relevant throughout BE IT.
Most notably: decolonising leadership with Rabab Ghazoul of Gentle Radical, Trauma Informed Change with Grace Quantock and the language of vulnerability present in the work of Brené Brown.
This led to them supporting the cohorts to engage in these debates in ways that have nurtured deep wisdom around these themes which surface throughout the work. Addressing the challenges and social issues faced throughout the cohorts journeys and developing tools within a context of wider activist thinking and encouraging continued learning.
Ella Trudgeon, Cohort 1
I feel more situated in my own sense of being and in that building a context that explains why I’ve ended up where I am and in that feeling very comfortable and grounded in myself and being able to see other people who are going through mental exploration.

Rhona Oughton, Cohort 2
The fact that we have had a space that has felt really open and that everyone has been able to share honestly… That creates and opens up feedback loops internally I think for reflection to happen more naturally and regularly.

Malizah, Cohort 1
